Where did it all begin?

...little Marjo sat wide-eyed, listening to her mother's and grandmother's stories of life before...

Officially, Tiitto Media was founded in 2020, when Marjo Tiitto decided to draw on everything she had learned and experienced over the years to start a business of her own.

But perhaps it all began much earlier — probably in the 1980s. That's when little Marjo sat wide-eyed, listening to her mother's and grandmother's stories of life before. Their tales were full of fascinating characters, everyday hardships, and sharp-tongued dialogue. There was even a touch of mystery, as earlier generations spoke of seeing ghosts and seeking out folk healers for their ancient remedies.

That hunger for stories eventually led Marjo to journalism. As a young reporter at MTV News, she was given permission to be curious — and to meet people ranging from presidents to rock stars. Later, she grew fascinated by the stories of companies. She worked in both the media industry and the pharmaceutical world, and in both, she discovered that a good story can be a decisive competitive advantage.

But something was still missing. Marjo realized she also wanted to tell fictional stories, and in 2018 she completed her second master's degree — this time in film and television screenwriting.

Running like a red thread through everything is the art of storytelling — turning vague ideas into stories that matter and stay with you.

— Marjo Tiitto

Blending fiction and fact is now the core expertise of Tiitto Media. Marjo knows how to apply the narrative arcs, character development, and dramatic pacing of screenwriting to business communications. Because when it comes to human communication, it has always, ultimately, been about stories — and about making others stop and truly listen.

Stories matter more now than ever. That's why we help businesses tell theirs better.
